University of Tromsø is pleased to offer a Ph.D. scholarship in Plant sciences /Plant biology. Norwegian and international applicants are eligible to apply for these positions.
The main aim of the Ph.D. project is to improve our understanding of stomatal function and responses to the aerial environment (air humidity and CO2).
The University of Tromsø is the largest research and educational institution in northern Norway. The main focus of the University’s activities is on the Auroral light research, Space science, Fishery science, Biotechnology,Linguistics, Multicultural societies, Saami culture, Telemedicine, epidemiology and a wide spectrum of Arctic research projects.
Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing Ph.D. program.
Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded in Plant sciences /Plant biology.
Scholarship Award: The salary for PhD-scholarship starts at wage grade 50 (equivalent to annual salary 435.100 NOK) on the Norwegian Government salary scale upon employment and follow ordinary meriting regulations.
Employment is conducted according to national guidelines for University and Technical College Ph.D. scholars.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:
The successful applicant must have an MSc degree in plant science or plant biology. The applicant must document expertise and interest in the research area.
Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- The grades on MSc degree work.
- Competence in stomatal responses to climate
- Experience with plant experiments in controlled environment
- Dissemination skills.
Nationality: Norwegian, as well as international applicants, are eligible to apply for these positions.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements: The successful applicant must have an MSc degree in plant science or plant biology.
English language Requirements: Applicants must have good knowledge of the English language – both written and oral.
