So the party has once again declared Girish Dattatreya Mahajan as its candidate from Jamner assembly constituency. There are a total of 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra.

In the 2010s, he served as the “Water Resources Minister” and the state Medical Education Minister at different times in the cabinet of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Mahajan was born in Jamner into a Marathi Gurjar family. As a college student, Mahajan was an active member of the ABVP in 1978. In ABVP he started as a grassroots worker, where he painted walls and distributed campaign posters for politicians. He was appointed Taluka President of ABVP.
Mahajan’s political career started in the early eighties. When he became the Taluka President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Maharashtra. In 1992, Mahajan was elected in the village-panchayat elections for Jamner. In 1995 he was elected to the Maharashtra State Assembly for the first time. As of 2014, he completed his 5th term as MLA. Accusations have been made of threatening people
Once former minister Girish Mahajan was accused of calling Bhoite faction’s advocate Vijay Patil to Pune in the month of January 2018 and threatening him to establish his authority over the above institution. In this matter, Vijay Patil had registered a case at Nimbora Police Station. Manoj Jarange Patil, who had given an open challenge to Maharashtra government minister Girish Mahajan in the assembly elections, was given. After Mahajan’s statement, the villagers of his constituency had now expressed their displeasure.
Current status of the assembly constituency
The villagers of the area allege that Minister Mahajan has done nothing to improve the condition of the roads in the area during his tenure. He questioned the minister that if he is claiming to win the assembly elections, then first fix the roads of his constituency. It is clear from this incident that there is resentment among the people in Minister Mahajan’s constituency and they are fighting for their basic facilities.
Government minister Girish Mahajan, while visiting the state, gives the example of his Jamner constituency, but today the poor condition of his own constituency has come to light. Roads are in bad condition in many parts of Jamner tehsil. Local residents have alleged that Minister Girish Mahajan is neglecting these roads. In this matter, citizens sought answers from the minister and expressed anger over his indifference. During the discussion, the citizens said that Mahajan is not living up to the hope with which the public gives Girish Mahajan the victory in the elections, hence it is possible that this time Mahajan may have to face defeat.
