Earlier this week, India announced a major breakthrough in ending the military standoff, which was later confirmed by the Chinese side. The historic agreement that India and China signed this week to end the longest military standoff in recent times got the final approval from Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping on Wednesday, as both of them agreed to a five-year held a bilateral meeting in Kazan after a gap of 15 years and supported this agreement. Rajnath said that throughout history, whether in pre-capitalist societies or modern times, humanity’s primary endeavor has been to increase and strengthen its material well-being. Even Adam Smith, the father of modern economics, has defined economics as the science of money. He said that in today’s technological age, advances in computer information technology, satellite communications and now, artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing are transforming the global economy.
The Defense Minister said that these innovations, coupled with other complex economic forces, have created a highly interconnected and dynamic economic landscape. Despite these complexities, it is clear that the global economy is growing at an unprecedented pace. He said that security is often linked to border security. When we think of security, the image of soldiers deployed at the border, planes patrolling the skies and naval ships guarding the sea usually comes to our mind. However, as you all know, security extends far beyond border security.
