Who is contesting elections on how many seats in Maharashtra? Cleared on the last day of nomination
On the last day of nomination for Maharashtra Assembly elections, the seat sharing arrangement between Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and Mahayuti alliance has also come to light. MVA has announced candidates for 279 seats, while Mahayuti is contesting on 283 out of 288 seats. Another where the MVA consists of Shiv Sena (UBT), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress. On the other hand, apart from BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP are included in the grand alliance.

BJP has announced candidates for a total of 148 seats in four lists. There are 99 in the first list, 22 in the second, 25 in the third and two in the fourth. Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde faction has announced candidates for 78 seats, which includes 45 in the first list, 20 in the second and 13 in the third. Ajit Pawar’s NCP has announced candidates for 51 seats, while other NDA allies have been allotted six seats.

Who gets how many seats in MVA?

Shiv Sena (UBT) already released three lists of candidates. There were 65 candidates in the first list, 15 in the second and four in the third, making a total of 84 candidates. In comparison, Congress has confirmed candidates for 102 seats. There are 48 in the first list, 23 in the second, 16 in the third, 12 in the fourth and three in the fifth. The NCP-SP alliance has announced a total of 91 candidates, which includes 45 in the first list, 22 in the second, nine in the third, six in the fourth, four in the fifth and five in the sixth. SP has been allotted two seats.

Today is the last day to file nomination papers for Maharashtra Elections 2024. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is November 4. Voting will be held in Maharashtra on November 20, while the results will be declared on November 23.
