Match winner player is ready to make a comeback in Test, played the last match three years ago

Rashid Khan is all set to return to Test cricket.

Afghanistan team’s star match-winner Rashid Khan played his last match in Test cricket 3 years ago, after which he is now completely ready to make a comeback in this format. The Afghanistan team is scheduled to tour Zimbabwe in December 2024, starting with a three-match T20 series followed by a three-match ODI series between the two teams. Finally, there will be a 2 test match series between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. Rashid Khan had decided to stay away from Test cricket due to back injury and that is why he was not a part of the squad of the Afghan team announced for the historic Test match between Afghanistan vs New Zealand.

Afghan board official confirmed

Regarding Rashid Khan, Afghanistan Cricket Board’s Chief Executive Officer Naseeb Khan has confirmed in his statement to Cricbuzz that Rashid Khan is now fully ready to return to Test cricket. This announcement was made by Afghan Cricket shortly after giving information about the complete schedule of the Zimbabwe tour. Rashid Khan played his last Test match in the year 2021. While announcing the team for the one-match Test series against New Zealand this year on behalf of Afghan cricket, it was informed that Rashid Khan will not be a part of the Test squad till the month of November. Naseeb Khan said in his statement regarding Rashid that we are confident that Rashid Khan will be a part of the team in the upcoming Test series against Zimbabwe. He required a long time to recover after the back injury surgery, in which we wanted him to return to Test cricket only after he is completely fit.

Afghanistan will be on tour of Zimbabwe from 9 December to 6 January

The Afghanistan team is going to stay on the tour of Zimbabwe for about a month, in which it will play a three-match T20 series from 9 to 12 December, followed by a three-match ODI series between the two teams from 15 to 19 December. The first test will be played on 26th December i.e. Boxing Day while the second match will be played from 2nd January in the year 2025. Both the matches of the test series will be held on the grounds of Bulawayo.
