Canada's allegations against Amit Shah 'worrying': America

The US on Wednesday said Canada’s allegations against Indian Home Minister Amit Shah are “concerning” and it will continue to consult with the Canadian government on the issue.

“The allegations made by the Government of Canada (against India’s Home Minister) are concerning and we will continue to consult with the Government of Canada regarding these allegations,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said at his daily press conference.

Canada’s National Security and Intelligence Advisor Nathalie Drouin, Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison and members of the National Security Committee of the Parliament of Canada confirmed a leaked report by The Washington Post alleging that there are plans to target Khalistani separatists in Canada. India’s Home Minister Shah was behind the campaign.

In response to a question, Morrison said he had “confirmed” Shah’s name to the Washington Post. He said, “The journalist called me and asked if it was the same person. I confirmed it was the same person.
