Share Market Closing 31st October, 2024: There was a big fall in the Indian stock market on the occasion of Diwali. On Thursday, the stock market appeared to be under great pressure due to heavy selling in shares of IT sector and banking sector. Today BSE Sensex closed 553.12 points down at 79,389.06 points and Nifty 50 closed 135.50 points down at 24,205.35 points.
The market was open in red mark
On Wednesday also the stock markets closed with a big fall. Yesterday and today also started with a decline. Yesterday, BSE Sensex closed at 79,942.18 points with a fall of 426.85 points and Nifty 50 also closed at 24,340.85 points with a fall of 126.00 points. After which today, on the occasion of Diwali, both the major exchanges of the stock market opened with a decline.
Shares of only 4 Sensex companies remained in the green.
Today, shares of 25 out of 30 Sensex companies closed in the red with a fall and shares of 4 companies closed in the green with a rise. Whereas the shares of one company closed with no change. Similarly, shares of 34 out of 50 companies of Nifty 50 closed in the red with losses and shares of the remaining 16 companies closed in the green with gains.
Larsen & Toubro’s shares increased the most
Among the Sensex companies, shares of Larsen & Toubro registered the highest increase of 6.38 percent today. PowerGrid shares closed with gains of 0.86 percent, JSW shares with gains of 0.76 percent and Mahindra & Mahindra shares with gains of 0.71 percent. Whereas HDFC Bank shares closed without any change today.
Huge fall in IT sector shares
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra shares closed today with maximum fall of 4.54%. HCL Tech shares 3.89 percent, TCS 2.80 percent, Infosys 2.48 percent, Asian Paints 1.97 percent, Maruti Suzuki 1.59 percent, ICICI Bank 1.57 percent, Adani Ports 1.45 percent, Bharti Airtel 1.34 percent, Axis Bank 1.20, Titan 1.16 percent, Hindustan Unilever. Shares of Bajaj Finance closed with a fall of 1.07%, 1.00%.
Apart from these, shares of Reliance Industries, Tata Motors, ITC, UltraTech Cement, Nestle India, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finserv, State Bank of India, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, IndusInd Bank and NTPC also closed in the red with losses.
