Abbas said that we welcome the way the Supreme Court has found this law right and justified. Madrassas have played an important role in the independence of the country. Madrassas have given us many IAS, IPS, ministers and governors. It is wrong to look at Madrasas from this perspective. If any madrassa is going on the wrong path then action should be taken against it but all madrassas should not be viewed with suspicion.
Muslim religious leaders and opposition parties on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the validity of the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board Act. Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, senior member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, said that now madrassas can run with complete freedom. He said how can a law made by the government be unconstitutional? Thousands of people are associated with these madrasas and they have got great relief from the decision of the Supreme Court. Now we can run our madrassas with complete freedom. Maulana Yasoob Abbas, spokesperson of the All India Shia Personal Law Board, said that madrassas have given many IAS and IPS officers to the country.

Let us tell you that the Supreme Court has given a big decision on the Madrasa Act. SC has canceled the decision of Allahabad High Court and recognized the Madarsa Act. The apex court had reserved its decision in these cases on October 22. The bench had in May stayed the High Court’s decision declaring the Act unconstitutional. Madrassa/Madrassa refers to institutions where Islamic studies and other education can be obtained by students.
