New Delhi: Famous folk singer Sharda Sinha is no more with us. He breathed his last today at AIIMS, Delhi. She was ill for a long time. He was admitted to AIIMS. Sharda was called the nightingale of Bihar. Sharda Sinha was 72 years old.

My health had started deteriorating since the evening.

Sharda Sinha’s health started deteriorating from late Tuesday evening. Kidney problems had increased since evening. His creatinine had also increased. His dialysis was started. He died on the ventilator itself. He also received the awards of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan from the Government of India.

Sharda’s famous songs are played in Chhath Puja

Sharda Sinha was known for her captivating folk performances during the Chhath festival. In Chhath Puja, mostly Sharda’s folk songs are played. 72-year-old Sharda Sinha has been battling multiple myeloma (a type of blood cancer) since 2018. His condition deteriorated on Monday, due to which he was put on ventilator.

PM Modi had assured help to the family members

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took information about the health of famous folk singer Sharda Sinha from her family. He had assured the family of all possible help. Her son Anshuman Sinha had given information about his mother’s health through social media.

Started career in 1970

Let us tell you that Sharda Sinha, known for her contribution to the traditional folk music of Bihar and her iconic Chhath song, rules the hearts of the people of Bhojpuri society. Over the years his voice has become synonymous with the Chhath festival. Sharda Sinha’s illustrious career began in the 1970s and she achieved national recognition in Bhojpuri, Maithili and Hindi folk music.

Received Padma Bhushan in 2018

His famous songs like ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ ‘Acacia’! This brought him not only fame but also critical praise. In 2018, she was awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award, for her contribution to the arts. He has also won the National Film Award. In the same year, Sharda Sinha’s husband also died due to brain hemorrhage. This year both of them celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
