The Make in India campaign of the Government of India has completed 10 years today i.e. on 25 September 2024. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised all those people who have been working tirelessly to make this movement successful for the last decade. Expressing his happiness on the completion of 10 years of Make in India in a post on the social media platform X, he wrote – Today Make in India is completing 10 years. I appreciate all those people who have been working tirelessly to make this movement successful for the last decade.

Building a self-reliant and developed India

The PM further wrote that ‘Make in India’ reflects the collective resolve of 140 crore Indians to make our country a hub of manufacturing and innovation. It is remarkable how exports have increased in various sectors, capacity has been built and, thus, the economy has been strengthened. The Government of India is committed to encourage ‘Make in India’ in every possible way. India’s progress in reforms will also continue. Together we will build a self-reliant and developed India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said about two months ago that the Make in India initiative can drive global growth and help democratize the global economy. India has 130,000 startups, including 100 unicorns.

Great success, great future ahead

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on the occasion of completion of 10 years of Make in India that this campaign has helped boost both domestic and foreign investment in India. He said that we have achieved great success, and there is a bright future for manufacturing in the country as the Make in India program celebrates its 10th anniversary. We are also looking at very big investment plans, which will create millions of jobs and expand our manufacturing contribution to the economy. We are confident that the share of manufacturing will also start increasing in the coming years.
