'Male tailors will not measure women', Uttar Pradesh Women's Commission issues proposals regarding women's safety
Amid rising crimes against women in the country, the Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women has proposed a list of advanced guidelines to be implemented to ensure the safety of women in the state. According to the information released, the State Women’s Commission has proposed guidelines, which include banning measurement of women by male tailors and banning men from training women during gym or yoga sessions. The State Women’s Commission said that this proposal was put forward during the meeting held in Lucknow on 28th, although more meetings will be held on this issue.

Talking about the decision, Women’s Commission member Himani Aggarwal said, “A proposal was made in the Women’s Commission meeting on October 28 that only women tailors should measure the stitched clothes worn by women and in these areas CCTVs should be installed in.”

She said that this proposal was raised by State Women Commission Chairperson Babita Chauhan and the commission members present during the meeting supported it.

There should be female trainers in women’s gym/yoga centre. Gym must be verified.
At the time of entry into the Women’s Gym/Yoga Centre, the candidate should get his/her identity card, such as Aadhar Card or Election Card, verified and its photocopy should be kept safe.
It is mandatory to have working CCTV and DVR in women’s gym/yoga centre.
It is mandatory to have a female security guard or a female teacher in the school bus.
In drama art centres, it is mandatory to have a female dance teacher and working CCTV and DVR.
In boutique centres, it is mandatory to have a female tailor and working CCTV to take measurements of clothes.
It is mandatory to have working CCTV, washroom etc. in coaching centres.
It is mandatory to have female employees in shops selling clothes etc. related to women.
