Pakistan created a new record by defeating Australia in the ODI series. Thanks to its excellent bowling, Pakistan won the 3-match ODI series 2-1. In this way, Pakistan performed the miracle of winning the series on Australian soil after 22 years. With this, Pakistan achieved a great feat by winning the series for the second time in any format in Australia.
Australia had won the first match but Pakistan won the last two ODIs and captured the series. Fast bowler Haris Rauf was the hero of this historic victory of Pakistan. He did a great feat of taking 5 wickets in the second match, whereas in the third ODI match, he bowled economically and took 2 wickets in his bag. In this way he achieved a feat which even Virat Kohli could not do.
Haris Rauf created a unique record
Actually, Haris Rauf took 10 wickets in this entire series. In the second match, he won the Player of the Match award by taking 5 wickets. He also became the player of the match in the third match. In the end, the Player of the Series award also went to Haris Rauf. In this way, he became the 5th player and the first bowler in the world to win Player of the Series in ODI on Australian soil in the last 10 years.
Even Virat Kohli has not been able to achieve this feat in the last 10 years. However, this achievement is recorded in the names of India’s Rohit Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni became the Player of the Series in ODI on Australian soil in 2019. Rohit Sharma had done the same thing in 2016. Apart from these, David Miller has achieved this feat in 2019 while Joe Root has achieved this feat in 2018. The interesting thing is that among all the players included in these clubs, Haris Rauf is the only bowler. All the rest are batsmen.
