Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh, while campaigning in favor of his brother Dheeraj Deshmukh, said that people claim that religion is in danger, but in reality his party itself is in danger and they are invoking religion to save it. Ritesh was campaigning for Dheeraj in Latur. Dheeraj is contesting against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Ramesh Karad from Latur (Rural) seat in the Maharashtra assembly elections to be held on November 20.
Addressing an election rally on Sunday night, Ritesh said, “Lord Krishna had said that karma is dharma. The person who works honestly is fulfilling his dharma. One who does not work honestly needs the cover of religion.” He said, ”Those who say that their religion is in danger, actually their party is in danger and they are trying to save their party and themselves. They are invoking their religion. Tell them that we will take care of our religion, you talk about development first.
The actor said that the educated youth of the state do not have jobs and it is the responsibility of the government to provide them employment. He said that farmers are not getting good prices for their produce. Referring to Dheeraj winning the 2019 assembly elections by a margin of 1.21 lakh votes, Ritesh appealed to the people to vote on such a large scale that the opposition candidate’s deposit gets forfeited. Ritesh urged the youth to recognize the importance of their vote. He stressed the need to protect the identity of Maharashtra and the dignity and rights of every citizen.
