The temple trust aims to remove all non-Hindu workers as a part of reforms being initiated after the laddu controversy and the subsequent political tussle. TTD is an independent trust that manages various temples in Andhra Pradesh, including Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has passed a resolution asking all non-Hindu employees to either opt for Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) or look for other jobs in other government sectors. The temple trust aims to remove all non-Hindu workers as a part of reforms being initiated after the laddu controversy and the subsequent political tussle. TTD is an independent trust that manages various temples in Andhra Pradesh, including Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.

Trust president BR Naidu said there was no question of allowing non-Hindu workers in the temple. BR Naidu said that I presented the proposal in the board yesterday. The board has accepted unanimously. We have identified some people (TTD employees) who are non-Hindus. He said that I wanted to meet them personally and I would request them to take VRS. If they are not interested, we will transfer or perhaps depute them to other government departments, like revenue or municipality or some corporation. So, that is our intention.

The temple trust also said that only Hindu vendors would be allowed to operate inside and outside the temple. He said only Hindu vendors would be allowed to run their business setup. We will also remove non-Hindu sellers. Nearly three weeks ago, the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday announced the formation of a new governing council for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), with BR Naidu appointed as the chairman of the board. The new council has 24 members, including representatives from states outside Andhra Pradesh.
