Giving information on the Cabinet decisions, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Assam Cabinet has decided to host the Assam Investment and Infrastructure Summit today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given his consent to participate in the summit. He said that the Assam Cabinet has today decided to publish the voter list for the Panchayat elections before December 30. If the voter list is published by December 30, then we will be able to complete the process of Panchayat elections by February 10, 2025. The date of Panchayat elections will be announced in the first week of January 2025.
Nine people from Bangladesh were caught by Assam Police on Tuesday in Karimganj district on charges of illegally entering India and handed over to the authorities of the neighboring country, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said. The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Mamun, Abbu Naeem, Rashed Islam, Morad Ali Mandal, Mohammad Asraful Haq, Mohammad Baseer Havaldar, Mohammad Robiul Havaldar, Mohammad Mahabat Ali, Mohammad Mohim Hussain.
