President Draupadi Murmu met former Indian Information Service (IIS) officer S.M. Condoling the demise of Khan, he said that he maintained the high standards of public communication with utmost dedication during his distinguished career.
In a letter to the late officer’s wife Shehnaz Khan, the President said Khan will always be remembered for his professional excellence and his affable nature, which won him countless friends. Khan, a former 1982 batch IIS officer, died at a private hospital on Sunday. He was 67 years old and had been ill for some time.
He was laid to rest on Monday in his hometown Khurja in Uttar Pradesh. Murmu said, “Mr Khan was a respected officer of the Indian Information Service and an excellent communicator.
