The situation has improved from “severe” pollution levels that have been going on for five consecutive days. The minimum temperature has continued to fall in Delhi. The temperature in Delhi has reached the lowest level of this season. At the same time, air quality has also improved due to reduction in the intensity of fog and increase in wind speed.

It has become difficult for people to breathe open air in the national capital Delhi. The air quality level in Delhi has remained in worrying condition for many days. Delhi’s air quality reached “very poor” category on Thursday, which is a slight improvement. The situation has improved from “severe” pollution levels that have been persisting for the past five days. The minimum temperature has continued to fall in Delhi. The temperature in Delhi has reached the lowest level of this season. At the same time, air quality has also improved due to reduction in the intensity of fog and increase in wind speed.

According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 376 at 9 am on Thursday, which is very poor. Whereas on Wednesday evening the level of air pollution at 4 pm is better than 419 severe. At 9 am, 11 out of 38 air quality stations were in the severe category. All remaining stations were in the “very poor” category. Delhi’s Wazirpur (436) recorded the highest AQI, followed by Jahangirpuri (435).

Let us tell you that earlier on Monday, AQI reached 494, which is jointly the second highest level till date. It had remained “severe” since 16 November. The average AQI on November 15 was 396 (very poor). On Thursday, the minimum temperature reached 10.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal. A day before this it was 11.2 degrees Celsius and on Tuesday it was 12.3 degrees Celsius. The temperature has dropped by about 6 degrees Celsius in four days.
