AAP releases first list of candidates for Delhi elections, tickets given to 6 leaders from BJP-Congress

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday released its first list of 11 candidates for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. The Arvind Kejriwal-led party has also given tickets to former BJP leaders Brahm Singh Tanwar, Anil Jha and BB Tyagi as well as former Congress leaders Chaudhary Zubair Ahmed, Veer Dhingan and Sumesh Shaukeen, who recently joined AAP, in the list. Bibi Tyagi, who is a two-time councilor, has been made the AAP candidate from Laxmi Nagar. He left BJP and joined AAP in the presence of Manish Sisodia. From Seelampur, Aam Aadmi Party has given ticket to Chaudhary Zuber Ahmed, son of veteran Congress leader and five-time MLA Matin Ahmed. Recently, Matin Ahmed along with his entire family left Congress and joined Aam Aadmi Party. Veer Singh Dhingan, who has been a Congress leader, will contest from Seemapuri. Dhingan, a three-time MLA, had also contested the 2020 assembly elections on a Congress ticket.

Sumesh Shaukeen will be AAP’s candidate from Matiala, who left Congress and joined Aam Aadmi Party on November 18. He has already been MLA from Matiala. Apart from this, Aam Aadmi Party has given ticket to Manoj Tyagi from Karawal Nagar. Gaurav Sharma will contest from Gond. Ram Singh Netaji will be the candidate from Badarpur. Deepak Singla will contest from Vishwas Nagar and Sarita Singh will contest from Rohtas Nagar on Aam Aadmi Party ticket.
