Russia Ukraine War: The war between Russia and Ukraine is taking a dangerous turn. After US weapons, Ukraine has now attacked Russia with British ‘Storm Shadow’ cruise missiles. Meanwhile, Russia has said that it has destroyed two British-made ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles.

What did the Russian Defense Ministry say

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday that its air defense systems destroyed two British-made ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles, six HIMARS rockets and 67 drones. The announcement was made in a daily briefing by the ministry on “special military operations” in Ukraine. It did not say when and where exactly the incident occurred or at whom the missiles were fired.

Russia has destroyed missiles before too

This is not Moscow’s first public announcement of shooting down British-made ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles. Russia had earlier also talked about destroying some such missiles in its occupied Crimea peninsula.

Russia attacked with ICBM missiles

Meanwhile, Ukraine has said that Russia used intercontinental missiles (ICBM) for the first time in war by targeting the Ukrainian city of Dnipro last night. The Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement on Telegram on Thursday that it was fired from Russia’s Astrakhan region. The development comes as the war has taken a more international dimension with North Korean troops arriving to aid Russia on the battlefield.
