As the Parliament session began, Congress party leaders from Kashmir demanded restoration of statehood as promised by PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. A large number of Congress supporters, party workers gathered at the Congress party headquarters carrying placards of “Restore statehood and other rights” and demanded restoration of statehood.

He said that today from this place Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress wants to give a message to those people in the Parliament who have closed their ears and this attitude of theirs will not last long. He further said that if you cannot fulfill your promise, then respect the decision of the Supreme Court, which had asked the government to hold elections and restore statehood.
