The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah has come into effect but still both are attacking each other and accusing each other of violating the ceasefire. Let us tell you that the Israeli army says that its air force on Thursday attacked a facility used by Hezbollah to store medium-range rockets in southern Lebanon. Israel said it fired on “suspects” moving with approaching vehicles in several neighborhoods in the southern region. Israel says the arrival of the suspects was a violation of the ceasefire with Hezbollah. On the other hand, Hezbollah leader Hassan Fadlallah accused Israel of violating the agreement. “Israel is attacking returnees to border villages,” Fadlallah told reporters. The Lebanese army later accused Israel of violating the ceasefire several times.
The exchange of accusations highlighted the fragility of the ceasefire, which was brokered by the US and France to end the conflict fought parallel to the Gaza war. This ceasefire was to last for 60 days but now its chances are looking slim.

Israel carried out the first airstrike on Thursday after the ceasefire came into force on Wednesday morning. Lebanese security sources and Al Jadid broadcaster said it happened near Bessariyah, north of the Litani River. Let us tell you that the ceasefire agreement states that unauthorized military facilities south of the Litani River should be destroyed, but there is no mention of military facilities north of the river. In addition, Israeli tank fire had hit five towns and some agricultural areas in southern Lebanon, wounding two people, Lebanese security sources said. Let us tell you that all these areas are located within 2 km of the Blue Line determining the border between Lebanon and Israel. Even after agreeing to the agreement in this area, the Israeli Army has declared a no-go zone on the border.
On the other hand, the Israeli army said in a statement that it has identified several suspicious activities that pose a threat and violate the terms of the ceasefire agreement. Chief of the General Staff Herzi Halevi said, “We will not tolerate any deviation from this agreement.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said he has instructed the army to be prepared for intense fighting if the ceasefire is violated. “We are forcefully enforcing the ceasefire but will not tolerate any violation of it,” Netanyahu said in an interview with Israel’s Channel 14.
Let us tell you that Lebanese families displaced from their homes near the southern border have tried to return. But Israeli troops are deployed in border towns inside Lebanese territory. The Israeli military has imposed a curfew that bans the movement of residents of southern Lebanon south of the Litani River between 5 pm and 7 am. It is being told that people are facing problems due to this. Let us tell you that it is written in the terms of the ceasefire that under this it may take up to 60 days for the Israeli army to withdraw from Southern Lebanon, but neither side can start an offensive operation.
Meanwhile, the world is keeping an eye on this because despite the ceasefire being implemented, both sides are making fierce statements against each other. Let us tell you that Netanyahu has said that Israelis in the northern region of Israel should no longer face the threat of rocket attacks from Lebanon. He, however, has not yet instructed about 60,000 people who were forced to leave their homes in the northern region to return. Hezbollah, on the other hand, has said that its fighters are “fully equipped to deal with the aspirations and attacks of the Israeli enemy” and that its forces will “keep their hand on the trigger” and monitor Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon. Although Hezbollah has become weak due to the killing of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah and other commanders, there has been no reduction in its aggressive statements.
