Attacks on Hindus are not stopping in Bangladesh. A huge fundamentalist march has taken out in the capital Dhaka in which slogans of killing ASKON and Hindus were raised in the name of Allah-hu-Akbar. Dozens of members of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), who were trying to enter India with valid travel documents, were turned back by the Bangladeshi immigration police at the Benapole border. There was also a fatal attack on his lawyer. On the same day when Hindus were being treated like this in Bangladesh, the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka organized a reception for leaders of Islamic political parties. Leaders of Bangladesh’s Islamic parties are currently visiting China at the invitation of Beijing. Experts say this is part of the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) strategy to connect with power centers in the South Asian country after the fall of the Hasina government. The 14-member team is led by Jamaat-e-Islami central leader Naib-e-Ameer and former member of parliament Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher. The fundamentalist organization Jamaat-e-Islami is known for its anti-India stance. China has been associated with the Awami League since 2009, while it has long-standing ties with its allies, including the BNP and the Jamaat, during whose rule military contracts were won in the 1970s and again in 1991 and between 1996 and 2001–06 . Interestingly, Jamaat has never criticized China’s behavior towards the Uighurs.

Experts believe that China, which is trying to bring countries like Afghanistan and Iran into its fold, is also eyeing Bangladesh. As a result of this effort, he has invited leaders of political parties of Bangladesh. China intends to take advantage of the tense situation with India. Sheikh Hasina’s government was considered close to India. But after the coup in Bangladesh, the mood of the government also seems to be changing.
