Officials said that Godavari’s husband Awadhesh had given his entire property to his wife and daughter before his death, due to which he was having a dispute with the sons of Awadhesh’s first wife.
A mother and daughter reportedly burnt to death in a fire that broke out in a house in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti district on Wednesday. A police officer gave this information. According to officials, this incident which took place in Setha village of Kaptanganj police station area is suspiciously related to a property dispute.
He said that the deceased have been identified as Godavari (55) and her unmarried daughter Soumya (26). Officials said that Godavari’s husband Awadhesh had given his entire property to his wife and daughter before his death, due to which he was having a dispute with the sons of Awadhesh’s first wife.
Superintendent of Police Gopal Krishna Chaudhary said that on the complaint of the deceased’s elder daughter Sarita, a named FIR has been registered against five people. He said that teams have been deployed to arrest the accused and the matter is being investigated. The officer said that the police have sent the bodies for post-mortem.
