Our main supply line through Syria cut off: Hezbollah leader

The leader of Lebanon’s militant group Hezbollah has said its main supply lines have been cut off following the fall of Bashar al-Assad from power in Syria, but he may find other ways to get weapons.

Hezbollah was Assad’s main supporter and has sent thousands of fighters to Syria over the past decade. For decades, Hezbollah depended on Syria as a conduit for weapons from Iran.

In his first public comments since the fall of Assad, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said on Saturday that the group’s military supply line through Syria had been cut. He said the new authority there could restore the route, “otherwise we can find other ways.”
