Beijing: India and China have once again started a round of bilateral talks to restore their relations. India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing on Wednesday for talks on border issues and other issues to bring relations between the two countries back on track. During this, various issues are expected to be discussed between the two leaders including maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control and restoration of bilateral relations which have been strained for more than four years due to the military standoff in Eastern Ladakh.

Doval, who is leading the Indian delegation, arrived here on Tuesday to participate in the 23rd round of Special Representatives talks being held after a gap of five years. The last meeting was held in Delhi in 2019. The talks started at 10 am China time. During this period, many issues are expected to be discussed to restore bilateral relations after the agreement reached between the two countries on October 21 regarding withdrawal of troops and patrolling from Eastern Ladakh.

Ahead of this important dialogue, China said on Tuesday that it is ready to honor the commitments based on the consensus reached during the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia on the sidelines of the BRICS summit on October 24.
