Films from these 15 countries made it to the Oscars

Recently, Academy Awards released the list of Top 15 International Feature Films, in which Missing Ladies could not make its place, but two other Indian films definitely secured their place. So let us tell you about the films that have confirmed their place in the top 15 of Oscar 2025.

The shortlisted film ‘Santosh’ from UK has made its place in the top 15 in the International Feature Film category of Oscar. The story of the film is Indian, but it represents Britain and not India. Apart from this film of British-Indian producer Sandhya Suri, another film based on an Indian girl has made its place in this category. The name of this film is ‘Anuja’, which has been shortlisted for the International Feature Film category of the Academy Award.

Films that made it to the Academy Awards

Apart from these two films, the films which have made it to the International Feature Film category of the Academy Awards also include Netflix’s French film ‘Emilia Perez’, which has been mentioned in 6 categories. Apart from this, the films which have made it to this list include Brazil’s ‘I’m Still Here’, Canada’s ‘Universal Language’, Denmark’s ‘The Girl with the Needle’, Czech Republic’s ‘Waves’, Germany’s ‘The Seed’. Films like ‘Of the Sacred Fig’, Iceland’s ‘Touch’, Ireland’s ‘Knee Cap’, Italy’s ‘Vermglio’ and Latvia’s ‘Flow’ have won the Academy Awards. Has made a place in the foreign film category of the award.

Apart from these films, Thailand’s ‘How to Make Million Before Grandma Dies’, Norway’s ‘Armand’, Palestine film ‘From Ground Zero’ and Senegal’s ‘Dahamey’ have also made their place in the list released by the Academy.

Missing ladies out of top 15 race

Let us tell you, in the 97th Academy Awards i.e. Oscar 2025 being held in America, 15 films have been shortlisted in the International Feature Film category, which have been selected from films made in about 95 different languages. Out of 95 films made in different languages, the judges had to shortlist only 15 films, which included India’s ‘Missing Ladies’. But Kiran Rao’s ‘Laapta Ladies’ could not make its place in the top 15.
