The reason for this uproar was the statement of Amit Shah which he gave in Rajya Sabha yesterday. While replying to the discussion on the Constitution, Amit Shah mentioned Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Congress accused of insulting Baba Saheb
Congress accused Amit Shah of insulting Constitution maker Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and said that he should resign from his post and apologize to the country. Kharge alleged that the ‘Manusmriti’ and RSS ideology in the minds of Amit Shah and BJP people shows that they do not respect Babasaheb’s Constitution. Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Kharge said, “We strongly oppose Shah’s remarks.” The country and countrymen will not tolerate the insult to Babasaheb. He said, “Amit Shah should apologize to the entire country and resign from his post.”
Congress is distorting the comments-Rijiju
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday targeted the Congress for disrupting Parliament proceedings over Amit Shah’s remarks on Constitution maker Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and said the opposition was distorting the Home Minister’s comments. “A short clip of Shah’s speech in the Rajya Sabha is being circulated in which what he said has been distorted,” Rijiju told reporters at the Parliament House complex here. This is wrong. I condemn it.” He said Shah had clearly said that Congress insulted Babasaheb when he was alive.
