CBI has arrested a total of 7 people including 2 IRS officers in the bribery case. Rs 50 lakh cash has been recovered from the arrested people. Big CBI raid in Mumbai
Let us inform that searches were conducted at the official and residential premises of the accused at various places in Mumbai, as a result of which 25 immovable property documents etc. were recovered. Let us tell you that these officials have also been accused that a private person (middleman) is collecting bribe on behalf of the officials of SEEPZ-SEZ. The cash collected by him, amounting to around Rs 60 lakh, was allegedly kept in his office at SEEPZ Andheri premises, with envelopes containing the amount of bribe, names of bribe givers and names of officials who gave the bribe.
Many officers arrested, further investigation continues
Besides, the arrested officers are also accused that the said middleman (private person) had also taken a bribe of Rs 15 lakh from a private person on December 12, 2024, which he allegedly handed over to the accused JDC, who received Rs 7 lakh. Kept it with themselves and distributed a bribe of Rs 8 lakh among SEEPZ officials, out of which Rs 4 lakh was recovered during the search. Regarding this matter, CBI said that further investigation is going on.
