In fact, Suryakumar Yadav indicated before the first T20I match against Bangladesh that he would like to captain the IPL franchise in the future. Last year, the Mumbai franchise replaced Rohit Sharma and made Hardik Pandya the captain. However, Mumbai could not perform well under the captaincy of Hardik, after which speculations started that there could be a big change in the captaincy of Mumbai before the upcoming season. He told that when he played for Mumbai under the captaincy of Rohit, whenever he was asked for his opinion, he used to share it. He said that it feels good to captain India. Before captaining against Sri Lanka, he also led the team against Australia and South Africa. He said that he has learned from other captains how to take the team forward.
