Dipa Karmakar Retirement: Olympics 2024 was organized recently. Where India won a total of 6 medals. Almost two months after the Olympics ended, Dipa Karmakar, an Indian star athlete and India’s first female gymnast to participate in the Olympics, has retired. He has disclosed this through his social media. Dipa Karmakar has won medals in many big events for India. He participated in Olympics 2016. Where his performance was quite amazing. Wrote this while announcing his retirement

Announcing her retirement, Dipa wrote that after much thought, I have decided to retire from gymnastics. This decision was not easy for me, but now I feel it is the right time. Gymnastics has been a huge part of my life and I am grateful for every moment, the ups and downs, and everything in between. I remember five-year-old Deepa, who was told that she could never become a gymnast because of her flat feet. Today, I feel very proud looking at my achievements. Representing India on the world stage, winning medals and most importantly, performing the Produnova vault at the Rio Olympics have been the most memorable moments of my career. Today, I feel very happy to see that little Deepa, because she had the courage to dream.

She recently participated in the Asian Women’s Gymnastics in Tashkent. Where he won the gold medal for the country. On this she wrote that my last win at the Asian Gymnastic Championships in Tashkent was a turning point because till then, I felt that I could push my body further, but sometimes our body tells us to rest, even if The heart may not agree.

Deepa can try her hand at coaching

Apart from this, he also thanked his coaches. Writing about her coaches, Deepa wrote, I would like to thank my coaches, Bishweshwar Nandi sir and Soma ma’am, who have guided me for the last 25 years and helped me become my greatest strength. I am also extremely grateful for the support I have received from the Government of Tripura, the Gymnastics Federation, Sports Authority of India, GoSports Foundation and Meraki Sports and Entertainment and lastly, my family, who has always stood by me in my good and bad times. She further wrote that even though I am retiring, my connection with gymnastics will never be broken. I want to give back to the game, maybe by mentoring, coaching or supporting girls like me. In the end, it has become clear from what Deepa said that she can try her hand in coaching.
