The Tata Group bought British tea company Tetley for $432 million in 2000 and Anglo-Dutch steel maker Corus for $13 billion in 2007, the largest acquisition of a foreign company by an Indian company at that time. Tata Motors then acquired British luxury auto brands Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor Company (FN) in 2008 for $2.3 billion.
