Maruti Suzuki boosted production for the second consecutive month, up 7.88% in December


Production of Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) increased for the second consecutive month in December. During this period, production rose 7.88 percent to 1,15,949 units. The company gave its information on Wednesday. Prior to the slowdown in vehicle demand, the company’s production had dropped for nine consecutive months. Maruti said that the production of the compact category including the new WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, OEM model and Dzire increased by 40.87 per cent to 62,448 units.

The company said that production of utility vehicles including Gypsy, Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, XL-6 and S-Cross increased by 20.62 per cent to 19,825 units. Production of light commercial vehicle super carry also increased from 545 units in December 2018 to 987 units in December 2019.

Production of these models decreased

Production of the mini category, including Alto, S-Preso and WagonR, fell 9.54 per cent to 25,613 units during this period. During this period, the production of medium-sized sedan Ciaz fell from 1,516 units to 894 units and the production of eco and omni fell by 62.16 percent to 6,182 units. Earlier in November 2019, production had increased by 4.33 per cent to 1,41,834 units.
