Prime Minister The Union Cabinet headed by Narendra Modi on Thursday approved several important projects. These also include two big railway projects, which will benefit Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar. Rs 6,798 crore will be spent on these railway projects. Talking about Cabinet decisions, today projects in 7 sectors worth a total of Rs 9,17,791 crore have been approved. These include projects related to airport, port, highway, railway, metro, industrial and housing. Projects worth Rs 51,801 crore have been approved for Railways. This includes a total of 12 railway projects and a new bridge in Varanasi.

Amravati railway line approved

The Cabinet today approved the 57 km long Amravati Railway Line. This railway line will be built at a cost of Rs 2,245 crore. This will connect Andhra Pradesh’s capital Amravati to the railway network. Amaravati will have direct connectivity with Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. With the construction of this railway line, access to Amarlingeshwara Swamy Temple, Amaravati Stupa, Dhyana Buddha Statue and Undavalli Caves will become easier. Connectivity to Machilipatnam Port, Krishnapatnam Port and Kakinada Port will increase. In this project, a 3 kilometer long bridge will also be built on Krishna river.

Railway line will be doubled in North Bihar

The second big rail project has come for North Bihar. Here 256 kilometers of railway track will be doubled. Narkatiaganj-Raxaul-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga and Sitamarhi-Muzaffarpur railway tracks will be doubled. Uttar Pradesh and North Bihar will benefit from this. This railway track will be near the Nepal border, which will also increase India-Nepal trade. This project will cost Rs 4,553 crore.
