7th Pay Commission: Holi gift to government employees, state government increased dearness allowance, next salary will be increased


The Naveen Patnaik government of Odisha has given a big gift to state workers before Holi. The government has approved the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) of employees. The state government has increased the dearness allowance by 5 percent. The increased dearness allowance will be effective from 1 January 2020. With this increase, the total DA of the state government employees has increased to 14 percent.

This will benefit about three and a half lakh government employees. At the same time, one and a half lakh pensioners will also get the benefit. Apart from this, the government has also approved 10 percent arrears under the 7th Pay Commission. This arrears will be given to the employees in the year 2017 under Odisha Revised Scales of Pay Rules (ORSP). Apart from this, the Cabinet has released 100% of the arrears to pensioners during the last two financial years.

Please tell that this information has been given in a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office. Earlier last month, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur announced a five percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees and pensioners. The enhanced DA has been validated from 1 July 2019. This dearness allowance for employees and pensioners was pending from 1 July 2019.
