Online Swiggy, a platform that provides food ordering facility, has started a new service. The name of this new service is Bolt. In this rapid delivery service, food and beverages will be delivered within 10 minutes. Swiggy is also going to launch its initial public offering (IPO). The service is already operational at key locations in 6 major cities – Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Chennai and Bengaluru. It will be brought to more districts in the coming few weeks.
These products will be delivered
Bolt offers instant food delivery service from select restaurants within a two kilometer radius of the consumer. “This service will be rolled out to more regions in the coming weeks,” Swiggy said. BOLT offers popular dishes like burgers, hot beverages, cold beverages, breakfast items and biryani which take minimal time to prepare. Swiggy said it will also focus on ready-to-pack dishes like ice cream, sweets and snacks.
There will be no pressure on the delivery partner
Notably, delivery partners (supply partners) are not informed about the difference between Bolt and regular orders, the company said. This means that they are neither penalized nor incentivized based on delivery time. Rohit Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Food Marketplace, Swiggy, said, “Bolt is the next offering in our mission to provide unmatched convenience. Ten years ago, Swiggy revolutionized food delivery by reducing the average wait time to 30 minutes. Now we are reducing it further.
