Hotel company Oyo (OYO) is preparing to expel more than 1,000 people in India. She is reorganizing her business in India. In an internal mail sent to Oyo employees in India and South Asia, the company’s founder and group CEO Ritesh Agarwal has said that it is not an easy decision to ask some associates to explore a new career outside Oyo.
However, it is not mentioned in the mail how many people are being laid off. However, sources associated with the case spoke of a plan to lay off more than 1000 employees. Also, the reason behind this has been told to keep employees according to the need.
Part of new strategic objectives for 2020
Agarwal said that this is part of the new strategic objectives for 2020. Under this, various units and teams in operations will be restructured. Oyo’s strategic objectives include continued growth, operational and customer excellence, profits and training and governance. So unfortunately some roles in Oyo will go waste as the company will later bring in technology enabled synergy, better efficiencies and eliminate duplication of efforts.
