In the utility vehicle segment, it sold 54,504 units in the domestic market, up 25 per cent from 43,708 units in the same period a year ago, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement. The company said, total wholesale sales of passenger vehicles including exports stood at 55,571 units. Domestic sales of commercial vehicles last month stood at 28,812 units. At the same time, there was a slight decline in the sales of Tata vehicles.
25% jump in SUV sales

M&M’s farm equipment segment (FES) recorded highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 64,326 tractors last month, as against 49,336 units in October 2023. Total tractor sales including exports stood at 65,453 units last month, compared to 50,460 units in the same period of 2023. “The tractor industry has seen very strong growth with a number of positive factors coming together,” said Hemant Sikka, President (FES), M&M. Slight decline in total sales of Tata Motors
Tata Motors Limited’s domestic and international sales declined marginally to 82,682 units in October, compared to 82,954 units in the same month last year. Tata Motors said in a stock exchange filing that total domestic sales last month increased marginally to 80,839 units from 80,825 units in the same period a year ago. Total passenger vehicle (PV) sales, including electric vehicles, declined marginally to 48,423 units in October 2023 from 48,637 units. Similarly, sales of domestic passenger vehicles also declined to 48,131 units, compared to 48,337 units in the same month a year ago, the company said. Tata Motors said its total commercial vehicle sales last month stood at 34,259 units, up from 34,317 units in October 2023.
Royal Enfield sales increased
Eicher Motors Ltd’s total sales of Royal Enfield motorcycles in October increased by 31 percent to 1,10,574 units. The company said in its information given to the stock market that last year 84,435 units were sold. Eicher Motors said international sales last month stood at 8,688 units, compared to 3,477 units in October last year. Sales of models with engine capacity up to 350 cc increased by 27 percent to 96,837 units this year compared to 76,075 units in October last year.
