Share Market Closing 24th Sep, 2024: There was tremendous volatility in the Indian stock market today. Meanwhile, both the major indexes BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 made history today. While on one hand the Sensex crossed the 85,000 mark for the first time, on the other hand Nifty 50 also crossed the 26,000 mark for the first time. On the second day of the week, the Sensex touched its lifetime high of 85,163.23 points and Nifty 50 touched its lifetime high of 26,011.55 points. However, in the end both the indices closed with a slight decline.
The domestic stock market closed with slight fluctuations
On Tuesday, the BSE Sensex closed at 84,914.04 points with a fall of 14.57 points, while the Nifty closed at 25,940.40 points with a marginal gain of 1.35 points. Today, out of 30 Sensex companies, 16 stocks closed in the green and 14 in the red. Similarly, out of 50 Nifty 50 companies, 25 stocks closed in the green and 25 in the red.
Tata Steel shares surged sharply
Among the 30 companies of Sensex, the shares of Tata Steel registered the highest gain of 4.32 percent today. Apart from this, Powergrid closed with a gain of 2.70 percent, Tech Mahindra 1.88 percent, HCL Tech shares closed with a gain of 1.49 percent. Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, JSW Steel, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Maruti Suzuki, TCS, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, NTPC and Adani Ports also closed in the green.
Hindustan Unilever stock closed with a big decline
On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever shares closed with the maximum decline of 2.46 percent today. UltraTech Cement closed with a loss of 1.54 percent, IndusInd Bank 1.16 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 1.13 percent and Titan shares closed with a loss of 1.00 percent. Apart from these, shares of Nestle India, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, State Bank of India, ITC, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank also registered a decline.
