Stocks in upper circuit today: There has been a tremendous decline in the Indian stock market today on Thursday. The Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex is seen trading at 82,498 with a decline of 2.10 percent or 1767 points. The biggest decline in the Sensex pack was seen in Asian Paint, Larsen & Toubro, Maruti, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Reliance, Axis Bank and Tata Motors. On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty was seen trading at 25,268 with a decline of 2.05 percent or 528 points.
Why did the market fall?
There are many reasons behind this decline in the stock market today. These include increasing tension between Iran and Israel, rise in crude oil prices, SEBI bringing new rules for futures and options, selling by foreign investors and inclination of foreign investors towards the Chinese market. Chris Wood of Jefferies has reduced his weightage on India by 1% and increased his weightage on China by 2%. Analysts have predicted a continued rise in Chinese stocks after the Chinese government announced economic stimulus measures last week, which could lead to an outflow of funds from India.
