The domestic stock market made a strong start on Friday, the last day of the trading week. At 9:17 am, BSE Sensex was trading at 79218.67 points with a gain of 174.93 points while NSE Nifty 50 was also trading at 23,979.40 points with a gain of 65.25 points. Dr Reddy’s Labs, HDFC Life, Cipla, Sun Pharma, SBI Life Insurance were among the major gainers on Nifty as the market opened, while Power Grid Corp, UltraTech Cement, ITC, Hero MotoCorp and Tech Mahindra were among the losers.

The market started flat in pre-opening today (9 am). Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) continued to trade with a gain of 78.34 points. Similarly, Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading at the level of 23,887.90 with a gain of 26.25 points.

Asian market condition today

Asian shares fell on Friday, while the yen was aiming for its best week in four months as strong local inflation data showed traders supported a rate hike from the Bank of Japan. Overnight, due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S., Reuters reported. Equities and Treasuries were off in trade, leaving little gains for Asia.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan (.MIAPJ0000PUS), fell 0.3% and was down 0.5% for the week. Japan’s Nikkei (.N225) fell 0.7% as the yen jumped after Tokyo inflation data.

Effect on oil and gold

Oil prices rose slightly but looked set for a weekly decline on the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire deal in Lebanon. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 0.1% to $68.76 a barrel, but were down 2.5% for the week. Gold fell 2.7% for the week to $2,638.29 an ounce.

45 new players in futures trading from today

According to Moneycontrol, 45 new shares are being entered in futures trading from November 29, 2024. Along with DMart, Zomato, Paytms PB Fintech and Nykaa have also got a place. Apart from this, BSE, CDSL and Jio Financial will also be included in the companies becoming part of F&O.
