India’s D Gukesh has become the youngest world chess champion by defeating the defending champion Ding Liren of China. Before Gukesh, this record was in the name of Russian chess champion Garry Kasparov. This record was in his name since 1985, leaving behind him, India’s D Gukesh has now registered his name as the youngest chess champion. On this spectacular victory of D Gukesh, many Bollywood and South celebrities sent congratulatory messages to the youngest chess champion on their respective social media handles. Let us tell you, D Gukesh won the FIDE World Chess Championship by defeating Ding Liren of China in Singapore on Thursday. Gukesh is only the second Indian after the great Vishwanathan Anand to win the FIDE World Chess Championship.
