Following the incident, local authorities swung into action and restricted access to the rocky area, according to local media. “During the monsoon season, we constantly warn tourists, especially in high-risk areas such as Chaweng and Lamai beaches, where red flags indicate no swimming,” said Chaiporn Sabprasert, head of the SamuiRescue Centre.
