In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, she talked about the emotional impact the closure of Inshallah had on Alia Bhatt. He told that when Inshallah was closed and Alia got this news, she was devastated. Bhansali says- “She broke down, she cried bitterly, cried a lot, screamed and locked herself in a room.”

However, about a week after giving the bad news about Inshallah, Bhansali again called Alia and gave a good news. This was good news about Gangubai Kathiawadi. However, initially Alia Bhatt was a bit unsure about this film, as she found this character quite difficult. She admitted to Bhansali that she was unsure about the character, but with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s guidance, Alia gradually transformed into the fierce, resilient Gangubai.

According to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, as soon as Alia took on the character, she went with it and completely immersed herself in the character of Gangubai. Bhansali revealed that he still sometimes slips into the personality of Gangubai during conversations with Alia Bhatt. He described it as a beautiful association with the role, saying, “It has become a part of him now.”

After Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt will be seen in another film of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Alia will be seen in Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’, which is a grand project. Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal will also be there with Alia in this film. Bhansali said in the same conversation that this film is particularly important and challenging, and he is determined to put everything into it. This epic love triangle is expected to release in March 2026.
