While talking to Ekta Kapoor, she recalled the moment when her daughter Ahana Googled her and came to know that he was divorced, after which she was devastated. She said, ‘I had come from work and Ahana was with her friends. Normally, they would be jumping around, screaming and yelling. But one day when I came home there was complete silence. And Ahana came to me and asked, mother you never told me that you were divorced.

Daughter got shocked after seeing update on Google

The actress said, ‘I was shocked to hear this, I had no words. I asked Ahana how did you know? So he said, ‘No, you are a celebrity and my friends and I were searching about you on Google and the first thing that came up about you was that you got divorced, but you are married. ‘ At that time the first thing that came to my mind was that I did not want my daughter to know about this. Apart from this, Neelam was seen crying and talking about her divorce.

Divorce happened due to alcohol

She said that after marriage, she moved to a new country. ‘I was told to wear Indian clothes, give up non-vegetarian food and not drink alcohol. I had no problem with everything. According to me, people also change their name, but changing your identity is something that I did not agree with. I reached a point where I asked myself how can I do this? I would be in the supermarket or out for lunch and someone would come up to me and ask, are you the actress Neelam? I had to refuse. That’s why I had to divorce, I couldn’t live with such restrictions.
