‘The Family Man 2’ actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu divorced actor Naga Chaitanya in 2021. After the divorce, both were never seen together. Both of them never told the world the reason for the breakup of their relationship. Samantha had said in ‘Koffee with Karan’ that their relationship ended at a bad point and at that time both of them did not agree with each other on many things. At present, both have moved ahead in their lives. While Samantha has become quite busy in her professional life, Naga Chaitanya is all set to remarry his girlfriend Shobhita Dhulipala. The fans of both have also moved ahead, but Konda Surekha, Cabinet Minister of Forest and Environment in Telangana Government, has stuck to the same issue. He raised many questions about their relationship and revealed why their relationship broke up. His views have not gone down well with Naga and Samantha and they have hit back at the Congress leader for politicizing their divorce.
Surekha made serious allegations
Telangana Forest Minister Konda Surekha on Wednesday leveled allegations against Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader KT Rama Rao and linked him to the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Launching a scathing attack on KT Rama Rao, son of former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Surekha said he was the reason why many actresses left the film industry and got married early. He further said that KT Rama Rao blackmailed film personalities by making them addicted to drugs.
Nagarjuna hit back
Surekha said, ‘It is KT Rama Rao because of whom actress Samantha got divorced. He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of actresses and then find their weaknesses to blackmail them. He used to make them drug addicts and then used to do this. Everyone knows this, Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his family, everyone knows that this happened. Her controversial statements were sharply criticized by Naga Chaitanya’s father, veteran Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, who said that her statements were ‘completely irrelevant and false’ and demanded that she retract them.
Samantha hit back
Samantha Ruth Prabhu wrote a long note on her Instagram story to clarify her stand on the matter. Samantha wrote, ‘Being a woman, coming out and working, surviving in a glamorous industry where women are often considered props, falling in and out of love, still standing up and fighting…so much for this. Courage and strength are needed. Konda Surekha Garu I am proud of what this journey has made me, please do not underestimate it. I hope you realize that as a minister your words are very important. I request you to be responsible and respect the privacy of individuals.

The same note further read, ‘My divorce is a personal matter and I request you to avoid speculating about it. Our decision to keep things private does not encourage misrepresentation. To clarify: My divorce was mutually consensual and amicable, with no political intrigue involved. Can you please keep my name away from political battles? I have always been non-political and want to remain so.
Chaitanya also replied
Chaitanya also shared a long note on his ex-profile. Chaitanya wrote, ‘The decision of divorce is the most painful and unfortunate decision of any person’s life. After much deliberation, my ex-wife and I have decided to separate amicably. This decision was taken peacefully, because of our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults. However, there have been many baseless and completely ridiculous gossips on this matter till now.
The ‘Majili’ actor further wrote, ‘I remained silent during this time out of deep respect for my ex-wife and my family. The claim made by Minister Konda Surekha Garu today is not only false, but it is completely ridiculous and unacceptable. Women should get support and respect. Taking advantage and exploiting the personal life decisions of celebrities for the sake of media headlines is shameful.
