IIFA Awards 2024
IIFA Awards, which started in London in the year 2000, turns 25 today. Now its ceremony is being organized in Abu Dhabi. This awards ceremony, starting from September 27, will continue for 3 days. This year too, Abu Dhabi is hosting this event for the third consecutive time. Till now, this award ceremony has been organized in India only once in 25 years. However, Bollywood stars have made a splash in this award in more than 17 countries. IIFA Awards, considered the most prestigious award of Bollywood, the world’s second largest film industry, will start from Saturday evening. Bollywood stars have started gathering here.
This award was started in the year 2000
In the year 2000, this award was organized for the first time in London, the capital of European country England. Bollywood and Hollywood stars participated together in this award. Chinese star Jackie Chan was also honored with an honorary award in this awards show. After this, next year in 2001, this award was organized in Suncity of South Africa. This show was hosted by Priyanka Chopra. After this, in 2002, this award was organized in Genting Highland city of Malaysia. The event was hosted by Lara Dutta. In 2003, this award was organized in Johannesburg city of South Africa and Dia Mirza was the host along with Anil Kapoor. Next year in 2004, this award was held in Singapore which was hosted by Rahul Khanna and Selena Jaitley. This year, Jaya Bachchan was honored for the film ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’. In the year 2005, this award was held in Netherlands and hosted by Fardeen Khan along with Karan Johar. This was followed by Dubai in 2006, UK in 2007, Thailand in 2008, Macau in 2009, Sri Lanka in 2010, Canada in 2011, Singapore in 2012, China in 2013, USA in 2014, Malaysia in 2015, Spain in 2016, USA in 2017 and This award was organized in Thailand in 2018.
This award was organized only once in India
The year 2019 is the only year when IIFA Awards was held in India. This award show held in Mumbai was hosted by Ayushmann Khurrana and his brother Aparshakti Khurana. This year, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Sara Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif and Madhuri Dixit stole the show with their performances. After 2019, this award was put on hold due to the Corona epidemic. Then in 2022 this award show was organized in Abu Dhabi. After this, the event was organized here in 2023 also. This year also the IIFA 2024 awards show is being organized in Abu Dhabi only. This year too, Bollywood stars are going to grace the occasion here. This award show is starting from this evening.
