It has been more than a month since its scheduled release and the film has not yet received a new release date. The actor also explained why he is disappointed with the delay in its release and wonders why people have formed their opinions about the film even before watching it. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Shreyas Talpade talked about the delay in the release of ‘Emergency’.

The film is based on the emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975. In this, Kangana is playing the role of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film faced controversy due to it being denied a certificate by the Censor Board, due to which its release was delayed. Now the Censor Board has given the certificate, but in the meantime Shreyas spoke openly about the stir surrounding the film. The actor said, ‘The way the film’s release has been delayed is really sad. Many times people form opinions about a film without even watching it. I think anyone should watch the film before making any assumptions about it because it hurts a lot. The actor further said, ‘In a country like India, sometimes it is very difficult to please everyone. A filmmaker never makes a project with the intention of hurting anyone’s sentiments.
