Famous tabla player Ustad Zakir Hussain’s health suddenly deteriorated on Sunday. After which he has been admitted to the hospital. Zakir Hussain is undergoing treatment in a hospital in San Francisco city of America and his condition is said to be critical. Hussain’s friend and flute player Rakesh Chaurasia gave this information on Sunday. He told that the 73-year-old musician living in America was suffering from blood pressure problem. He said, ‘Hussain was admitted to a hospital in San Francisco last week due to heart problem.’ Chaurasia said, ‘Hussain is unwell and is currently admitted in the ICU. We are all concerned about his health condition.
Zakir Hussain, born on 9 March 1951 in Mumbai, has been a sharp minded and art lover since childhood. Zakir Hussain completed his schooling from St. Michael’s High School, Mahim. Zakir completed his doctoral degree in music from the University of Washington. He worked on an album with drummer Mickey Hart for Planet Drum in 1991.
