This Bollywood actor fell from the sky to the ground
Today we are going to tell you about Sanjay Mishra, one of the multi-talented actors of the industry. Born in 1963 in Darbhanga, Bihar, Sanjay Mishra pursued his passion for acting by enrolling in the National School of Drama. However, the early years of his career were not easy as he played small roles in advertisements and television. His cinematic debut was in 1995 with ‘Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India!’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Although he was seen in small roles in films like ‘Satya’ and ‘Dil Se’ after this, he did not get the recognition he deserved even after playing the role of Apple Singh in the 1999 World Cup TV serial. Eventually Sanjay Mishra got a recurring role in the hit sitcom ‘The Office’.
Leaving acting, he washed utensils in a restaurant
Sanjay Mishra carved a niche for himself in Bollywood’s comedy genre with films like ‘Golmaal’, ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ and ‘All the Best’. However, in the 2000s, when his career was gaining momentum, his father passed away, leaving him devastated. Disheartened, Sanjay Mishra left the film industry and moved to Rishikesh where he worked at a small dhaba near the ghats. He used to get a job washing dishes for Rs 150 per day. Later, during the promotion of the film ‘Golmaal’, he revealed that he sought this simplicity for peace of mind. Eventually, he returned to Mumbai and resumed his acting career.
