Veteran Bengali actor and popular reciter Devraj Roy passed away. The actor died on Thursday night in a private hospital. After suffering from serious illnesses for several months, the news of his death came to light after suffering from multiple organ failure. He was 69 years old. The actor also suffered a brain stroke a few months ago and was also suffering from neurological problems. He is survived by his wife Anuradha Roy who was a Bengali actress and popular newsreader. Devraj Roy’s hit career
Roy started his career with famous filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s 1970 film ‘Pratidwandvi’ and then acted in Mrinal Sen’s ‘Calcutta 71’ in the second year, for which he received a lot of love from the audience. Some of his other popular films include ‘Dujon Milbo Aabar’, ‘Smriti Katha Bole’, ‘Jodi Kagoje Lekho Naam’, ‘Badodir Brahmachari Baba Loknath’ and ‘Sri Ramakrishna Vivekananda’. His last film was ‘Bhoot Adhvesh’, which was released in 2014.
